Our Story
Hello ! I am Kopal Jaitly. Before founding Petite & Curvy London, I spent years believing my body was the exception, not the standard. I thought maybe I was “between sizes.” Maybe my body was just difficult to dress. Maybe I needed to try harder, shop longer, or accept that clothes would never quite fit the way they looked on other women.
As a petite woman with curves, shopping often felt like a quiet disappointment. Sleeves fell past my hands. Waistlines sat too low. Dresses that looked beautiful on the hanger swallowed my frame or pulled in the wrong places. I’d stand in fitting rooms adjusting, tugging, convincing myself something was “good enough.”
But deep down, I knew something wasn’t right. It wasn’t my body that was wrong. The clothes just weren’t made for it.
That realisation changed everything. I began noticing how mainstream fashion caters either to petite straight frames or curvier bodies on taller proportions — rarely both together. Women like me, and so many others, were left altering everything we bought, compromising on fit, or feeling like we had to change ourselves to make fashion work.
And I was tired of compromising.
That’s how Petite & Curvy London was born — not from a trend, but from a feeling. A feeling of being overlooked. Of wanting clothes that respect our proportions and celebrate our natural shape, instead of trying to disguise or minimise it.
Every piece we design starts with the same question: How will this make her feel when she puts it on?
Our collections are thoughtfully tailored for women between 4’11 and 5’3, with curves that standard sizing often forgets — hips, a bust, a defined waist, or simply fuller arms, thighs, and a belly that make proportions matter. We pay attention to the details that change everything: sleeve length, waist placement, skirt volume, balance, and fabric quality.
No drowning in fabric.
No awkward pulling.
No endless alterations.
Just clothes that fit — the way they should have all along.
For me, the word curvy isn’t about labels or categories. It’s about femininity. It’s the confidence of women like Marilyn Monroe or Salma Hayek — soft, strong, elegant, and unapologetically themselves. It’s about bodies that deserve to be dressed beautifully, not corrected.
Petite & Curvy London isn’t just about clothing. It’s about that moment when you put something on and your posture shifts. Shoulders back. Chin up. A quiet smile in the mirror because, for once, nothing feels off.
I created this brand so you never have to wish you were taller, slimmer, or shaped differently just to enjoy fashion. You deserve to feel confident, seen, and radiant — exactly as you are.
With love,
Kopal Jaitly
